In 1989, BUTTSTAIN!™ ANTI FASHION was conceived in protest of the industry norms. Its founder, Mr. Buttstain!, an artist and musician who came of age during the 1980's Los Angeles punk scene, created his own style out of necessity with the mission to prod and provoke mainstream society and popular fashion. Unlike anything that was being created in the industry at that time, Mr. Buttstain!’s ideas were brash and obnoxious yet satirical, and always conveyed with an ever-present "fuck you!” attitude toward the trends of the time.
BUTTSTAIN!™ ANTI FASHION was part of the first wave of alternative urban lifestyle companies that came out in the 80’s and 90’s, and one of the few to be adopted early on by the rising Japanese streetwear & skate scenes.
It is and always will be..."Anti Fashion"...in its purest form.
